The mission of Keep Miami Beautiful is to promote a healthy environment, reduce waste, increase recycling and community pride.

Through an enhanced environmental cleanup of public places including streets, alleys, canals and shorelines, the program sustains city efforts in reducing waste, increasing recycling, protecting natural areas of our neighborhoods and community beautification

Since the launch of the Keep Miami Beautiful Campaign in 2015, the City of Miami’s Department of Solid Waste has helped improve, educate, and beautify the City of Miami. What started out as a campaign to improve our community’s environment is now the forefront to better the beautiful city we call home. Our goal, with the continued support of the Neighborhood Enhancement Team, Code Compliance, Public Works, Home Owner and Business and Associations and other civic groups, with the support of the Miami Police Department and the Office of Communications, is not only to Keep Miami Beautiful but to educate the community on the services provided by the city. These services, such as biweekly recycling collections, nightly street sweeping and the availability of the mini dump facility, will help reduce waste, increase recycling and protect natural areas throughout the city. Our staff, volunteers, and community leaders, including city elected officials, have helped Keep Miami Beautiful promote public health and safety by raising awareness to issues including street litter, illegal dumping, and code violations.
