Civil Rights and Torts
From time to time the Office of the City Attorney seeks outside attorneys to represent the
City of Miami and City Employees in Civil Rights and Tort litigation cases where the City
Attorney determines a conflict exists in providing such representation. Interested
attorneys should submit resumes and a proposed fee structure to the below address.
Community Development Legal Representation
The City of Miami seeks a qualified real estate attorney or attorneys to represent the
City in real estate closings (including title insurance) for
properties acquired under the City of Miami's Affordable
Housing Programs. This solicitation is designed to
enable the City of Miami to develop a pool of attorneys or to
hire a staff attorney best suited to provide services to the
Department of Community development at the most competitive
cost. Sample scope of work includes: Closing sales of
residential property, including property sales, rehabilitation
properties and acquisitions; preparing all documents needed to
complete the closing; arranging title insurance on the
property including performing title searches as required;
attending and performing all closings; filing all documents
with the appropriate authorities.
Selection will be
Primairly based on the qualifications of the attorney or firm
to perform the outlined services and on the estimated fees and
costs provided in the response.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: At least 5 years legal experience
with issues involving real estate acquisition, development and
financing. Submissions that do not include minimum
qualifications will not be acknowledged.
1. If responding as a law firm or to provide
the services by contract, include the list of names of all
personnel who will be
assigned to perform the services and describe the
qualifications and experience of each attorney identified.
2. Describe the qualifications and
experience of support staff, if applicable, and provide
information on availability to perform
the work requested.
3. Include all fees and costs to be charged.
If submitting as an individual to be hired as an employee of
the City of Miami,
include requested salary.
Labor and Employment
The Office of the City Attorney seeks outside attorneys to represent the City of Miami in Labor and Employment matters including but not limited to administrative hearings, state litigation, and federal litigation where the City Attorney determines a conflict exists in providing such representation.
