What is NET?
NET is a network of nine (9) service centers located throughout the City’s Neighborhoods. NET coordinates and customizes municipal services to the needs of each diverse community. The NET Department expedites the delivery of municipal services and serves as the link between the neighborhoods and the City Administration. NET’s proactive approach to neighborhood issues are implemented by a staff of administrators, commanders, neighborhood resource officers, Service Center Representatives and Service Center Aides ensuring the delivery of Municipal Services. A call to NET greets the caller with a friendly voice and provides access to the most requested governmental services.

Who can I contact if there is a dead animal in the street?
The Solid Waste Department removes dead animals. For dead animal pickup, please call your local NET office or 311. Other numbers you can call include:

What do I do if there is an abandoned vehicle in my neighborhood?
Abandoned vehicles located on the public right of way can be reported to your local NET office. Vehicles located on private property should be reported to the Code Enforcement Department at 311.

I would like to build on to my home; do I need a building permit?
Permits are required for/but not limited to building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, roofing, gas, fences, windows and shutter work. You can apply in person at 444 SW 2nd Ave. 4th floor or download application from www.miamigov.com. For further assistance, call 311.

What do I do to request an inspection?
A Permit Inspections Record Card is issued at the time a permit is issued. The Card lists all inspections required for a particular job. All mandatory inspections labeled "yes" under the required column on the Card, and on any other additional related subsidiary permits MUST be requested and approved by the Field Inspectors. To request an inspection, the applicant may:

What is Code Enforcement and how can I report a violation?
The main objective of Code Enforcement is to seek compliance with the Zoning Ordinance. All code enforcement personnel respond to complaints from citizens, as well as observe and report violations and hazardous conditions. To report a violation you can call the following:

Where can I find out about Crime Watch or organize a Crime Watch in my area?
The Miami Police Crime Prevention Unit organizes neighborhoods in Miami into Crime Watches, conducts business and residential security surveys, and provides community programs. To organize a Crime Watch in your area or for more information, please call the Crime Watch office (305) 579-6108.

What types of Disabled services are available in the City?
The City of Miami offers a three-component program:
- • The Adult Day Training Component provides support and services that enables participants to function more independently in daily life and workplace settings.
- • The Non-Residential Habilitation Component of the program will provide leisure/social activities in community settings.
- • The Transportation Component Provides transportation to and from the participant’s place of residence and the program site.

What should I do if I see someone dumping garbage in the area?
4 units or more/commercial accounts
It is illegal for any person to dump, or dispose of any dirt, building rubbish, household rubbish, waste, or debris. This should be disposed of by a private hauler. To report an incident of illegal dumping in progress, call your local NET service center. If you are unable to report the incident at the time of the occurrence, you should record the license plate number, the name, type and color of vehicle, location of violation, type and amount of material dumped, and date and time of occurrence. -

Who should I call if I want to report a sidewalk that needs repairs?
Call your local NET service center.

If I want trash picked up from my residence who do I call?
For your convenience, the Solid Waste Department picks up garbage, trash, bulky waste and recycling from over 65,000 residences.

There is a tree near my home that I would like removed who can I call?
Permits are required for the removal, relocation or replacement of any tree located on residential and public right of way or business property within the City of Miami.
Permits ARE NOT required for tree trimming if the area trimmed is less than 30 percent of the original canopy of the tree. Contact your local NET Office.

How can I find out if my property has a violation?
You can find out if your property has a violation through the internet. Visit the Code Enforcement website, click on E-Code Online Access, and insert your address or folio number.

How do I file a complaint about a City of Miami Police Officer?
A complaint against a City of Miami Police Officer may be filed directly with the Miami Police Department Internal Affairs Division at (305) 835-2000. You may also file a complaint directly with the Civilian Investigative Panel at (305) 579-2444. Additionally, complaint forms are available at your nearest NET Office.
