- Performs dry-run review of street excavation plans and specifications.
- Processes applications and issues permits in the right-of-way for:

- Groundwater Monitoring Well
- Temporary Right-of-Way Closures
- Horizontal Overhead Banners
- Pay Telephones
- Sidewalk Cafés
- Newsracks
- Conducts inspections for all permits issued.
- Establishes process criteria for excavation plan reviews, permit applications and inspections.
- Recommends resolutions to the Public Works Director on all issues related to excavation plan
reviews, right-of-way permits and inspections.
- Reviews vendor applications and locations and provides recommendation to Finance Department
for the issuance of a Business Tax Receipt.
- Reviews special event, parade, film, and assembly applications.
- Handles a variety of public contact information involving complaints, public records requests
- Conducts bi-monthly utility coordination meetings with agencies and private contractors.
- Updates master utility atlases (above and underground).
- Processes underground utility record requests.
- Administers and inspects sidewalk repair contracts.
- Administers and inspects right-of-way maintenance contracts
- Administers and inspects bus benches/bus shelter contract.
