Overtown/Wynwood Bicycle Pedestrian Plan

The City of Miami completed a bicycle pedestrian mobility plan for the Overtown and Wynwood areas. These central urban neighborhoods have numerous mobility needs to serve the existing residents, business owners, and visitors who come to see the beautiful mural walls, historic Overtown, and diverse museums and shops. In addition, the area is attracting many new residents who want to enjoy an urban lifestyle where walking, bicycling, and convenient access to public transportation are the most viable forms of transportation. Check out the complete report here!

City of Miami launches Citi Bike

The City of Miami has begun the rollout of the Citi Bike bike share program. The program is managed by Deco Bike LLC, who have successfully run the Miami Beach Bike share program since 2011. Bike share stations are being installed from Coconut Grove, Little Havana, Brickell, Downtown, Edgewater, Wynwood, and Midtown. Additional locations are currently going through review process.

More information on the program can be obtained at. www.CitiBikeMiami.com

If you are interested in a station near your residence or office, please contact Collin Worth at cworth@miamigov.com

Bicycle Pedestrian Mobility Plan

City of Miami Office of Transportation will begin a study through the assistance of Kimley Horn and Associates to identify problems, and opportunities to enhance bicycle and pedestrian safety and mobility throughout the Little Havana area. The study will cover SW 2nd Ave on the east, Miami River on the north, 27th Ave on the west, and US-1 on the south.

Public input will be an important component to developing the plan. Public meetings and user surveys will be done to gather input. If you would like more info on the study and future meetings please email Collin Worth cworth@miamigov.com

What is BIKE305?

BIKE305 is a fun, healthy way to explore experience and connect with Miami-Dade County and its surrounding communities. Our county's level terrain and fabulous weather make it the ideal place to leave the car behind and make true connections with friends and neighbors as you bike, walk, run or skate through beautiful, scenic greenways and trails. It's a great way to stay active and healthy and discover the people, places and things that remind us why we love to live and play in South Florida.

The BIKE305 initiative kicks-off in March 2013. This year's featured trail passes through Miami-Dade County, City of Miami, Village of Key Biscayne, City of Coral Gables, Village of Pinecrest, Village of Palmetto Bay, and Town of Cutler Bay. The bike trails are more commonly known as Rickenbacker, Commodore, Old Cutler, and Biscayne.

Check out the Bike305 web page for more info. Let's get out there and BIKE305!
