Getting Exercise Through Friendship, Involvement and Training (G.E.T. F.I.T.)
is a nationally ranked afterhours physical fitness and sports training program presented by M.A.G.I.C.
that focus on sports skills to promote personal and team sports performance that follows
the Special Olympics training and competition calendar.
G.E.T. F.I.T. is for adults 18 years and older with
developmental disabilities who are registered Special Olympics
athletes, able to train and compete in various spots and are
independent. G.E.T. F.I.T. is offered August to May on Monday
and Wednesday from 3pm to 6pm at the Sandra DeLucca
Developmental Center located at 4560 NW 4th Terrace, Miami, FL
33126. The cost is $80 a month for Non-City of Miami Residents
and $60 a month for
City of Miami residents and Sandra DeLucca participants. Registration fee of $20
is due annually. We are now offering additional programming on
Thursday that is an optional day dedicated for fitness and
weight management only. Additional fees for this extra day are
$120 per month for 3 days a week and for non city residents and
$90 for
city residents.
Transportation will not be provided to and from the center.
Sports training programs are: Fall: Softball, Bowling, Basketball
and Gymnastics.
Winter: Bocce, Soccer and Athletics/Cycling. Spring: Aquatics,
Sailing and Golf.
G.E.T. F.I.T. is sponsored by City of Miami, DAGA and The
Autism Services Grants Council.
