Applications are now available for income-eligible City of Miami homeowners who
are seeking financial assistance to repair specific property issues that are
directly related to property damages caused by Hurricane Irma, declared a major
disaster in Miami-Dade County (DR-4337). This program has limited funds and is
therefore administered on a first-come, first-eligible basis. The applicant must
reside in the property being included in the application and the property cannot

under the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program during State
Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-2018. Funding for the State Housing Initiatives
Partnership (SHIP) Program is based upon the amount of revenue generated through
the local documentary stamp tax paid on all real estate transactions and the
State approved budget through the Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC).

Funding for FY 2017-2018
The City of Miami Department of Housing & Community Development will issue three different Requests for Proposals (RFPs) on Friday, January 20, 2017. In February, the Department will hold several Pre-Proposal Workshops for applicants seeking funds from the Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) (in the categories of Public Service/Economic Development/Emergency Solutions Grant), and/or Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) programs for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 which runs from October 1, 2017 through September 30. 2018. Please note that the contracts for Public Service/Economic Development/ESG activities and HOPWA may be awarded for up to two years, based on performance in the first year.

Housing and Commercial Loan Committee (HCLC).The HCLC's purpose is to approve or
disapprove certain housing and commercial loans and/or grants to be provided by
the City of Miami under Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME
Investment Partnership Program (HOME), Housing Opportunities for People with
AIDS (HOPWA), State Housing Initiatives Program (SHIP), Affordable Housing Trust

As per the Code of Federal Regulations 24 CFR 91.200, the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires entitlement cities that receive
funds under its grant programs to prepare an Annual Action Plan, which details
proposed activities to maximize the benefits of federal funding for low income
residents. The City of Miami is required to report annually to HUD on projects
funded through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG); Home Investment
Partnership (HOME); Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG); and Housing Opportunities for
Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) programs.
The City of Miami Department of Community and Economic Development has completed
a draft of its FY2015-2016 Action Plan. The Annual Action Plan will be available
for public review and comment for a period of no less than 30 days. The review
and comment period begins on February 23, 2015, and ends March 25, 2015. The
plan will be presented to City Commission for approval on March 26, 2015,
(public hearing) at City Commission Chambers, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, FL
33130 at 9:00 a.m.
